Hi, my name is Santana Checkk, a model and student esthetician based in North Carolina.

Growing up as a military brat meant constant movement, new places, and learning how to adapt quickly. I’ve lived across the U.S. and spent three years in Germany during high school, which shaped how I understand identity, style, and presence. My story was even featured through the military community in Alaska at Fort Wainwright: Fort Wainwright Honors Children. I guess you could say I’ve been “modeling” my adaptability since I was a kid.

Fun fact: I changed my first and last name to something more intentional and iconic as part of building the identity and personal brand I wanted to step into.

I was born with mild hearing loss, and I’m currently in the process of getting hearing aids. This has made me even more aware of how powerful visual expression can be. When sound shifts, visuals speak louder. Fashion became my language for energy, emotion, and confidence without needing words.

Beyond modeling, I’m pursuing my esthetics education at Alamance Community College, where I’m building the foundation for a future in professional skincare. For me, skincare is about more than beauty. It’s about routine, self-care, and understanding how skin health connects to confidence and self-expression. Learning the science behind skin and how people relate to their appearance feels like a natural extension of my creative work: closer to the skin, more personal, and more intentional.

But my vision doesn't stop at beauty. After building my modeling career and earning my esthetics license, I plan to pursue fashion design and eventually launch my own fashion line. I want to bring my creative perspective, love for fashion, and passion for self-expression into designs that tell a story and encourage people to embrace their individuality. Each step is part of a bigger vision I'm working toward, one that brings together beauty, fashion, and the freedom to create something uniquely my own.

For me, this journey is about more than the titles I earn. It's about becoming the person behind the vision and building something meaningful along the way.
